Our small farm is located in Prior Lake MN, just southwest of Minneapolis.  My husband and I bought the property in 2016 and have been busy working on transforming all the overgrowth into new gardens and spaces for our various animals.  One of our first additions to the farm (besides our 2 children Luci and Caleb) was chickens.  Shortly after that led to the addition of ducks, geese, goats, and bees.  We also have 3 dogs named Rigley, Finn, and Jupiter.  

 

My love of gardening and farming started at a young age spending much time at my grandparent’s farm and with my mom in her flower and vegetable gardens.  Many of my plants on the farm have been transplanted from my childhood home and grandparent’s farm.

My special love of dahlias started when I grew them for our wedding flowers.  I have been hooked ever since!  As most dahlia lovers know, the intention to buy just a few varieties turned into a few hundred.  I also have a fondness for peonies and we are working on building up stock to sell as cut flowers.  While flower farming is much different from the farming my grandparents did, I hope to teach my kids the value of sustainable agriculture and the joy that gardening can bring.  Some of my favorite moments in life are spent in the gardens with my children playing at my side.
